Dr. Camila Coelho
Welcome to our website! After earning my Master’s, PhD, and MBA, I conducted research at Georgetown University, the intramural NIAID/NIH, and the La Jolla Institute for Immunology. My vision for our lab is to foster a dynamic, energetic, and diverse environment where rigorous science thrives alongside a strong sense of community. While we are dedicated to producing high-quality data, I also believe in the importance of fully enjoying life beyond the lab. I’m passionate about outdoor adventures, and my favorite foods are coxinha, popcorn, dark chocolate, and guava!

Hey! Over the years, I have worked across different fields including molecular biology, biochemistry, and proteomics, always connected to infectious diseases. More recently, I was lucky to return to the immunology field, especially B cell biology and antibody responses; an area I truly enjoy!
Outside the lab, I enjoy practicing sports mostly because I love good food. Good coffee is always welcome, but even better when paired with pão de queijo and brigadeiro. I also believe science works best in collaborative and curious environments.

Postdoctoral ResearcherDr. Ana Beatriz Anjos
Hi! I am a virologist by training and by passion. I completed my scientific training at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, including a research period at the University of Michigan.
As a Black woman in science, I value diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in research and education.
Outside the lab, I enjoy history, museums, running, and samba, which connects me to ancestry, resilience, and community.
Claudine Mukashyaka
Ph.D. Student in Medical SciencesHi! I am a Biomedical Scientist trained in Immunology and Clinical Microbiology at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Sciences through a collaboration between the University of Antwerp, Belgium, and the Albert Einstein research network, Brazil. My research focuses on B-cell immunity in mpox survivors in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Outside research, I enjoy the outdoors, live music and I am a dedicated football fan. My favorite pet is a cat.
Postdoctoral ResearcherHi there! I completed my master's and PhD degrees at Fiocruz, and my bachelor's at the Federal University of Pernambuco. I am passionate about virology and scientific challenges.
Outside the lab, I love learning languages, staying active through sports, painting,
and spending time with friends and my cats - usually accompanied by a generous cup of coffee
