  • February 2026 - Dr. Coelho is invited to join the WHO Review Group for the Poxvirus Collaborative Open Research Consortium (CORC).

  • February 2026 - Dr. Fantin takes the lead of the MPOX network, a collaborative initiative to foster collaborations on human immunology to orthopoxviruses.

  • January 2026 - Dr. Coelho is awarded the ASPIRE Award by the American Association of Immunologists (AAI)

  • January 2026 - Dr. Coelho is named a Keystone Fellow and joins the advisory board of the Keystone Symposia.

  • September 2025 - Dr. Coelho was named a Sinsheimer scholar, and the lab received $250,000 for its research on mpox B cell immunity.

  • June 2025 – Vishal Rao is awarded a fellowship to attend and give a talk at the Keystone Conference on Vaccinology in Washington, DC.

  • May 2025 – Vishal Rao receives a travel award to attend the ISV Congress 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, in October 2025.

  • May 2025 – Dr. Coelho receives the Rising Star Award from the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).

  • May 2025 – Dr. Fantin and Vishal Rao present their research at the AAI Conference in Hawaii.

  • February 2025 – Dr. Fantin is elected Chair of the 2027 Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Tropical Infectious Diseases.

  • March 2025 – Our research technician, Hallie Cohn, has been accepted to the Immunobiology Program at the Yale School of Medicine and will begin her PhD studies there in the Fall.

  • March 2025 – Our research technician, Bailey Bozarth, has been accepted to the NYU Grossman School of Medicine in the Immunology Program and will begin her PhD studies there in the Fall.

  • January 2025 – Dr. Fantin receives a travel award to Tuscany, Italy, to present her research at the prestigious GRC on Tropical Infectious Diseases and to attend both the GRC and GRS.

  • October 2024 – Dr. Coelho is listed on the Dean’s Outstanding Faculty list for 2024.

  • June 2024 – Dr. Coelho is featured in the Atlas of Inspiring Hispanic/Latinx Scientists.

  • May 2024 – Dr. Coelho is awarded an intramural NIAID grant that will fund her salary and support a visit to Dr. Bernard Moss's lab in Bethesda during the summer of 2024.

  • May 2024 – Dr. Coelho receives a Faculty Travel Award to attend the 2024 AAI Conference in Chicago.

  • May 2024 – Dr. Fantin and Dr. Lobo receive trainee travel awards to attend the 2024 AAI Conference in Chicago.

  • February 2023 - Dr. Coelho is invited to join the Steering Committee on Malaria Vaccines of the USAID as a Federal Advisor.

  • March 2023 – Our lab receives IOF funding from the HIPC program at NIAID/NIH.

  • January 2023 – Our lab receives IOF funding from the CCHI program at NIAID/NIH.

  • October 2022 – Our lab is open! Dr. Coelho is named a Biomedical Laureate Assistant Professor and joins the Center for Vaccine Research and Pandemic Preparedness at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
