Biomedical Laureate Assistant Professor /Principal Investigator

Welcome to our website! I completed my graduate degrees at the University of Sao Paulo and Federal University of Minas Gerais. Following graduate school, I worked at Georgetown University, intramural NIAID/NIH, and La Jolla Institute for Immunology. I want our lab to be known as a dynamic, energetic, diverse, and inclusive place where we work rigorously to generate good data, but also, I want to make sure lab members enjoy life outside the lab. I love outdoor activities and my favorite foods are burritos and guava.

Postdoctoral Researcher

I'm an Irish immunologist, with research experience in both medical and veterinary settings. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from the University of Hull, an MPhil in Infection and Global Health Medicine, and a PhD in Infection and Immunology, both obtained from the University of Liverpool. During my PhD, I also took the opportunity to intern at Oxford University's technology transfer company, Oxford University Innovation. Besides my work in science, I enjoy creating (and sampling!) flavoured gin using vodka and keeping my ancestors happy with my love of anything potato based.

Hi everyone! I'm originally from Brazil and completed my degrees at the Federal University of Amazonas and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with a research period abroad at Aston University (Birmingham, UK). When I'm not in the lab, I love to go for a walk, explore the city, and eat out. My favorite color is purple and I love to try new types of food.

Hi there! I completed my degrees at Fiocruz and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with a period at the NIAID/NIH. Besides doing science, I spend a lot of time reading, writing, and doing some watercolor painting. I love being outdoors, and I have a soft spot for dogs. My main motto is social justice for all!

PhD student, Immunology

Hello! I recently completed my BS-MS research degree at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, along with a brief period at Harvard Medical School, Boston (remote), and Nuffield Department of Medicine, Oxford University, during my master’s. When I’m not on my computer or the bench in the lab, I enjoy playing and watching cricket and catching up with friends. I also love to sing and play guitar!

Intern (Bronx High School Of Science)

Hello. My name is Samantha and I am an intern from the Bronx High School of Science. I have always lived in Manhattan. I am a student in the Biology Research Program at Bronx Science. I am taking AP chemistry, but have previously taken biology and earth science. I am in debate, soccer, and lacrosse. Finally, my favorite foods are pomegranate and mango.

Mascot

Drakarys doesn’t like other dogs. But she loves people! Drakarys never went to school because “who needs Education to be happy?”. She enjoys running and eating the leftover food that babies throw on the floor. Her favorite food is a can of Hill's Science Diet Adult (Chicken). Her favorite activity is to bark at other dogs when watching DogTV on the sofa.
